the diorama near the end of the game shows an intentionlly placed beam of light pointing at the huddles final resting place.
many people have said "this escape cant have planned because they wouldnt have wanted there CEO to have been killed. also they would rather not have the huddle destroy all the property as it is hi tech and expensive and probably very hard to find in a dystopic world like this."
however i think that during when the huddle crashes into the CEO's office, the scientists wanted to test the huddles reaction. they wanted to see if he would kill the CEO or spare him. this proves that the escape was planned because during the huddles breakout, the scientists wouldve wanted to test the huddles reaction to other humans and to things that got in its way. when this was proven, they trapped the huddle in the water tank. when the huddle broke out, they decided that if the huddle was to breakout, it would be drawn towards the beam of light that they placed on the hill. that way they woudve tested the huddles weakness's.
this proves that both endindgs really have no point and that the sceintists in the main endidng wanted to test the huddle one final time. in the alternate ending, what ever the cord was connected to was unknown and that it could have been anything.
